4th Grade Public School Teacher Brings Pot and Gun to Elementary

Parents in one Texas school district are livid after police said a fourth-grade teacher was arrested when deputies found marijuana and a loaded handgun in a car on an elementary school campus.

Tanya Boyd, 46, was arrested by Guadalupe County sheriff's deputies after a drug-sniffing dog alerted deputies to the drugs in her vehicle, authorities said. Deputies also found the gun during the search, they said.

Deputies said the investigation began after they were tipped off Boyd was smoking marijuana in the parking lot during her breaks, reported KSAT-TV in San Antonio.

Public middle school video teacher wants to have sex with and kill his students

Tim Sheehan, was a popular video-production teacher at Whitman Middle School in Ballard. Thoma-Guay said Sheehan talked about fantasies of having sex with and killing young boys and showed her numerous images of child pornography on a laptop computer he used at the school.

According to a Seattle police document, Sheehan apparently used his job to fuel his fantasies.

"Sheehan told Thoma-Guay that he liked when the children did interviews because it got head shots of his students. Whereas he used to have to look on the net for photos of children, he now enjoyed the fact that he got to ‘Watch them in slow motion, frame by frame,’” a court document said.

Public school elementary students burglarize their school

HOUSTON, TX — Nine laptop computers and several more desktop computers were stolen recently from a Spring Branch ISD elementary school. The burglars were even caught on video breaking in.

But they weren’t your everyday crooks.

According to the surveillance tapes, the suspects appear to be a trio of elementary school-aged bandits.

It is difficult to tell exactly how old the three suspects are, but authorities think they are likely students at Hollibrook Elementary School.

Two middle-schoolers charged with having gun in public school

Two Stuarts Draft Middle School eighth-graders are charged with possessing a weapon on school property after another student saw the gun in a school locker, authorities said Monday. 

State Department of Education statistics showed that almost 2,400 students in Virginia were disciplined over weapons.

11-Year-Old Public School Student Found With Marijuana Traded iPod for Gun

Police arrested an 11-year-old boy Friday after Woodlands Elementary School officials allegedly found marijuana and a gun in his back pack, MyFOX Orlando reported.

Jarrett Snipes, a fifth-grader who now has a mugshot, reportedly used an iPod that he had borrowed as a down payment for the gun, which he bought from another child.

School officials said they found the gun, which was not loaded, along with three small bags of marijuana and a window punch, a pen-sized tool used to easily break windows, inside Snipes' bag.

Snipes faces charges of possessing a concealed weapon, along with drug charges, MyFOX Orlando reported.

Gun-toting 17-year-old pot-smoker arrested at public school

On Thursday evening, a 17-year-old student taking night classes at Lowell High School was discovered to have a loaded gun.

Security guards found the gun on the student after searching him because teachers noticed a marijuana smell in the area. Police officers arrested the student.

Gun-toting 6-year-old at public school

A 6-year-old first-grade student brought a gun to his elementary school in the Excelsior district on Friday, according to San Francisco school officials.

The incident was the second in one week involving a gun at a San Francisco public school. 

Workers at Cleveland Elementary School found the gun in the boy’s backpack after hearing other students talking about the child having the weapon, according to Gentle Blythe, a spokeswoman for the San Francisco Unified School District.

Public school fight caught on tape

Just days before final exams begin, seven female students at Hinds County Agricultural High School are suspended after a fight on campus.

That fight was caught on tape by students who used a cell phone to capture the brawl.

A school official says the incident happened Monday morning as students were leaving an honors award ceremony at the school's fine arts complex.     

The mother of one girl hit and kicked says her daughter and another girl were both attacked, even though they did nothing wrong.

FORT WORTH, Texas -- A street fight between girls who attend Fort Worth schools was posted to YouTube.

Female students from Daggett Middle and Elementary schools fought in the brawl. A girl who witnessed the fight said it happened in the Daggett Middle School parking lot. She said a text message started the fight.

Brawl breaks out at public school involving 600 people, police in riot gear respond

A fight that broke out at a troubled South Los Angeles school escalated into a campuswide brawl involving as many as 600 students
before it was quelled by police in riot gear.

Music teacher Reggie Smith described to the Los Angeles Times a chaotic scene where it was difficult to distinguish between trouble makers and those trying to avoid the mayhem.

"The kids were crazy, running from place to place jumping on other kids," Smith said. "Some of my kids were crying because they were walking to class with friends and they got jumped."

Teen stabbed inside Houston public school

HOUSTON, TX -- A student has been stabbed by another student inside Dickinson High School.

Dickinson police have confirmed the attack occurred this afternoon. The injured student was taken to an area hospital by medical helicopter. There's no word on student's condition.

25% of high school girls in fights

In 2003, 25 percent of high school girls said they had been in a physical fight in the past year, according to a survey by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. (The figure for boys was 40.5 percent.)

A Justice Department report released in 2006 showed that by age 17, 21 percent of girls said they had assaulted someone with the intent to cause serious harm.
